When I was five years old, I told Toren Grace I was going to marry him when I grew up. When I turned eighteen, I made it clear I still felt the same. The problem? He’s fifteen years older than me, and he’s my father’s best friend.
Toren Grace. My pseudo-uncle. He’s always been my rock–the one I should never, ever want. But I do want him, and I love him. I always have.
Tor’s one of the good guys. He’s loving and devoted with a strong moral compass. One unexpected kiss between us rocked him clear off his axis. Now, we can’t forget how that kiss felt, and what it changed. Nothing will ever be the same between us.
But I’m not a little girl anymore, and he’s everything I want.
I’m everything he wants, too.
I know he’s struggling, but I’m determined. With a last name of Valentine, I’ve got cupid in my veins. The heart wants what the heart wants, and it doesn’t care about age or how we met. My father cares, though. And he’s the one person neither one of us can stand to betray or hurt.
We’re all being torn apart, and I don’t know how to make everyone see that the wrongs are actually right.
I found a recommendation on this book in a romance group on FB. I’ve read the synopsis and decided it looks like something I’ll love.
Now take the words – love – and run with him throughout the review because that’s what happened to me while reading – all I felt was LOVE.
But let’s start from the beginning.
Tor (Toren) – Heroine’s daddy’s best friend (Asher). What kind of a best friend? He knew Asher since the age of 7; Now, they are 32 years old. Tor lived with Asher and Asher’s wife. Tor is the girl’s godfather! He’s 15 years older than Kenzi, but he adores her! The guy with the tattoos, the muscle, the long hair with a rock n roll looks, and what he does is taking care of the abandoned animals, save them and find them a home and all that while keeping the family business.
Usually, I’m not quoting books in my reviews, but just so that you understand who Tor is.
“I’m just waiting for the one that makes me feel like forever wouldn’t be long enough.”
Tor is one of the greatest heroes I’ve read. The real love that grows in his heart for his best friend’s daughter is one of the most romantic loves I have read in books.
I just felt broken with him throughout the book. All his thoughts just broke my heart and warmed it at the same time. He was so real!
Kenzi is an 18-year-old girl who is mature for her young age. She is strong, loyal, and so very caring. She is not a typical “girl” who wants a young crazy life, so it is not surprising that she fell in love with Tor – who is 15 years older than her.
Throughout the book, you can feel the heart that is there. 😍
Despite all the difficulty, struggle, and pain in the book and with the characters, the heart just screams LOVE.
I’m trying to describe my feelings for this book, but apart from the word 💗 love 💗 I find no other words. It’s the kind of book that will go straight to your heart. ❣️
There is sex in this book; there is friendship, and there is romance. This book is a minor taboo, but it is a book that melts the heart no matter what.
It is true love, pure, young, and first.
If I continue to talk about the book, I will only ruin your enjoyment of reading it. Open the book, and be ready to open your heart. Do yourself a favor and read the book.
