The Sexiest Nerd Alive – J. Preston

Reviews by Yael Waknin

Synopsis

When you’re a woman in a STEM world, you have to try twice as hard.

So if you used a matchmaking app to get invited to an industry event, wouldn’t you really be just leveling the scales?

Hayley Scott would do anything to make her boss notice her. Working as an intern in a top-notch Cancer Research facility is not all it’s cracked up to be, when the people above you regularly mistake you for a cleaner. So when her best friend comes up with an ingenious plan to get her noticed, Hayley grabs the bull by the horns. Or rather, by the Holidates app.

Adam Granger left his tenure to be with his ill mother. When he returns home, the last thing he wants to do is to attend an awards dinner. Except that might just be the distraction he needs. When a chance connection on the app brings the one woman he never quite could forget back into his life, he’s determined to not let the chance pass him by.

Between Hayley’s uncertainty about getting involved with her ex college professor, and Adam’s mother’s illness getting worse day by day, can they look past what’s going wrong in their lives and see what’s right?

My review

Who doesn’t love those sexy nerds??

And the sexiest nerd alive?? Oh, yeah! Sign me up!

I’ve read one of the books in another series by her and I loved it and I was excited to read Hayley’s story.

Hayley is the student, Adam is the professor – sounds interesting, right?

But wait! That’s not all!

This book isn’t just a student and a professor or even not exactly a student and a professor. But of course I’m not telling you more than that!

This story was such a page turner! I really couldn’t put it down.

It’s so interesting and unique!

It was the best “grandkids story” for the “how did you meet” question

Adam wasn’t what I expected and I loved it!

He was a nerd but not JUST a nerd. He was smart, he was sweet, he was sexy, he was sensitive and my heart broke for him.

Also, Adam in bed was… NOT NERD!

Hayley is the character we love to love!

She’s independent, smart, funny, compassionate, loving and with all that, she isn’t perfect! And that was perfect.

The story was emotional and heart breaking (there are triggers at the beginning – Cancer / Parent death) and it was also light and I even found myself smiling and laughing a little.

I just love it when authors know how to write such conflicted emotions like that. It was beautiful! Absolutely beautiful!
