Sharkbait by Erin Mallon

Reviews by Yael Waknin

Synopsis

My name is Louise and I’m a serial-monogamist marine biologist.

Try saying that five times fast.

Fresh out of an awful relationship and tired of always doing the right thing, this girl is finally saying “screw it” and having herself a meaningless fling.

Here’s the thing about flings though: they only work if you keep feelings out of the equation.

Well, that won’t be a problem for a sensible scientist like me… that is, until a one night stand with a hot single dad rocks my world and blows my plans completely out of the water.

If I’ve learned anything from the ocean world, it’s that those with the hardest shells have the most to fear. And something tells me this guy is going to crack mine wide the hell open.

My review

I knew James was special right from the prologue!

The way he couldn’t stop talking, I just knew he was different!

How did I knew that? You’ll have to find out for yourself…

This book was such a beautiful story and a fun experience. I really loved the sea theme.

Looking at the sea and the whole world that underneath it it’s mesmerising and I could totally understand Louise!

I loved her! I absolutely loved Louise!

Her fear was so valid and understandable that I wanted to wrap my arms around her and tell her that I UNDERSTAND HER! That SHE’S NOT ALONE!

I think Louise was tougher than she gave herself credit for and that’s where the wonderful James came in the picture…

James, oh the sweet, sweet James.

So nervous, and blabbering James. I loved that he couldn’t shut up. I loved that the male was the blabbering one and nervous one, and James was so sweet and so caring, and he certainly was stubborn! Gotta love a guy who goes after what he wants!

This book hit all the right places!

It was funny and it was emotional. It had those awww moments and those – “get out of your head” moments. But most of all, this book was a page turner that I didn’t want to end.

I enjoyed Louise and James’s journey to find their HEA and I gotta tell ya, Erin really kept me on my toes up until the end!

I loved all the secondary characters so freaking much! I loved everything about this book and I already started the audiobook that I was so happy to get as part of the ALC team (I feel so lucky!) !
