Secretly yes… but I never told anyone.
I always told myself stories in my head. I would see something interesting and make up something about it. I told a friend about it once and she told me I needed to write out the stories. I did one for her and she insisted I publish it. I did and it changed my life.
Often as I write the first book in a series, the other books tell themselves in the story. A character will appear and become prominent, or catch my attention and tell me their story. When I wrote BAM I knew the character names and friendship of Bentley, Aiden, and Maddox but the rest of the books grew from those stories.
So far there is one, but I am working on it and that might change!
Cheating.
Sometimes an image catches my eye and inspires the cover. Other times I spend hours trying to find the image to go with the book. I work with Karen to create the feeling of the cover. I have to love the cover otherwise my readers won’t.
I find inspiration everywhere. A person standing at the bus stop. A couple in a restaurant. A snippet of overheard conversation. My mind is full of ideas inspired by simple day to day occurrences.
Richard and Katy Van Ryan from The Contract.
4-8 weeks depending on the length of the book.
I love sunshine/grumpy or office romance.
So many. I love to read historical. Scarlett Scott is a favorite. Tessa Dare. Elisa Braden. In contemporary I love Carrie Elks, Freya Barker, Vanessa Fewings. JR Ward is my favorite vampire go to.
I would love to see The Contract made into a movie. Or BAM into a series.

She’s learned happily ever afters, even bumpy ones, are all in how you tell the story.
