My review
The second book in the Bro Code series.
(Click here for a review of the first book – Flirting with the Frenemy) I was waiting to get to this book because I got a glimpse of Beck’s character in the previous book, but I did not know how much I’ll love Beck in this book.
The series is called Bro Code because Beck and a few other friends (who have the following books on them) were in their youth in a boy band – Bro Code (meaning Backstreet Boys of the writer’s world).
The band broke and everyone went their separate ways. Beck has become a lingerie and overall clothes brand for his brand and is now worth a lot of money.
Sarah is seemingly a simple woman who devotes her time and education to saving extinct animals: bees, giraffes, etc. She accidentally gets a tweet on Twitter from Beck, who writes her a very sexist and bad tweet that makes everyone really hate him.
Sarah is a geek who hides from the spotlight (and as I said, she has a reason and I do not want to reveal to you), and Beck unknowingly brought her back to the front of the stage. He offers her to impersonate that they are dating for a few weeks so that they can both correct the negative image caused by the tweet.
I will write a little of what I thought of the book AND What I thought of Beck.
Beck is Perfect! That’s it, I said it. Beck is one of the cutest, funny, witty, fun, direct characters I’ve ever read.
I’ll give you an example quote from the book:
Sarah: “You know what’s stupid?”
Beck: “Soy milk?”
Understand the guy’s brain?? I laughed out loud!
So Beck is stunning. He’s a real sweetheart. He’s a lovely guy, and it’s really easy to love him… even Sarah can’t say no to him (who is the tougher of them all).
There are some surprises in this story. There’s a live broadcast of a pregnant giraffe about to give birth. There’s a pig in a tutu, and there’s a beehive – should I say more than that?
Excellent book, stunningly recommended, sweet, and I have read it twice and a half. Half of it is because I just wanted a little more of Beck before moving on.
